The Catholic Voice is the official newspaper of the Diocese of Lancaster and has recently (December 2009) been re-designed with a modern fresh look. This diocesan newspaper originally grew out of the need to provide information and a means of communication for the local Catholic community.
The mission of the Catholic Voice is defined as follows:
To promote for Catholics and other readers an understanding of the mission and teachings of the Church and its prophetic role in the community.
To foster the faith and unity of the local Church, and to serve as an instrument of the mission of evangelisation and on-going formation for all the baptised.
To provide readers with accurate news and information about the Church on a local, national and universal level.
To provide a forum for an expression of views in a manner consistent with the teachings of the Church and the principle of respect for others.
The Catholic Voice of Lancaster is published by its owners; the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lancaster, a registered charity, (No. 234331), and is wholly independent of and separate from, any previous newspaper published by or on behalf of the diocese. Publication Date is the last Sunday of the month previous to publication date.
